WALERO x
SEED MADAGASCAR

Walero proudly supports SEED Madagascar, an award-winning UK-based charity working in partnership with communities in southeast Madagascar.

The relationship began following a visit to Madagascar by Walero Founder and CEO, Fiona James. During her time on the island, Fiona developed a deep admiration for the country. The landscapes, the communities, and particularly the spirit and craftsmanship of the women creating beautiful textiles and handmade fabrics.

Inspired by their resilience, creativity and pride, she left with a clear intention: to support the island and its people in a meaningful, long-term way.

A percentage of every Walero sale goes directly towards SEED Madagascar's initiatives supporting:

  • Environmental conservation and reforestation
  • Biodiversity protection
  • Education programmes
  • Sustainable livelihoods and community development

We split the funds 50:50 – half going towards the workings of SEED Madagascar to help allow them flexibility to support the full breadth of their charity work, and the other half going towards the Walero Women's Empowerment Fund.

What is the Walero Women's Empowerment Fund?

The Walero Women's Empowerment Fund is an initiative between Walero and SEED to strengthen the resilience, empowerment and rights of women in Madagascar.

What projects are supported by the Walero Women's Empowerment Fund?

Project Votsira

Supporting new and expectant mothers with vital health information and care, helping women and their babies achieve the healthiest possible start in life.

Project Sekoly

Focused on building safe, welcoming schools that help girls remain in education through improved sanitation, menstrual health facilities and inclusive learning environments.

Project Mampisaina

Empowering young people with knowledge around sexual health, relationships and personal safety, enabling informed choices and challenging harmful gender-based norms.

Project Mahampy

Supporting female traditional weavers to increase their incomes while protecting the natural reed beds they rely on, strengthening livelihoods and preserving cultural heritage.

This partnership reflects Walero's belief that performance and responsibility should go hand in hand. Through intelligent product design, durable garments, temperature regulation that supports ‘wear more, wash less’, and antimicrobial technology that reduces wash frequency, Walero reduces environmental impact at the source. Alongside direct charitable contributions, the brand creates impact through innovation and action.

Performance with purpose. Impact beyond the racetrack.
